Seasoned programmers would tell you how important a role profiling plays when developing an application. Profiling helps us to identify performance issues arising from an efficient algorithm. If you profile your code under load, you can have an idea of how it would behave under pressure. At a minimum, you should profile your source code before you deploy them. It should be part of your QA-OPS, DevSecOps process and not an afterthought.
As a Java developer, I created a quick tip video which shows how to use Apache NetBeans IDE to profile your Java artefacts. The video demonstrates the profiling feature of the IDE and how to connect to an external process. The sample application is a microservice developed using the Quarkus framework and executed through Maven in Dev mode.
